Black Knight T&D Junior Mixed League

The Toronto and District T&D, is generally the area in the Greater Toronto Area, known as the GTA.

The league it setup for teams made up of girls and boys from GTA clubs to compete with each other. Some of the affiliated clubs include the Fabulous Fitness, the Granite Club, the Badminton and Racquet, the Toronto Cricket Club, the Toronto Lawn and Racquet, the Ontario Racquet Club and the Glendon Athletics (York University). There are five age categories "Under" (U)11, U13, U15, U17 and U19. The player's age is based on the final date of the season. If the player turns 11, 13, 15, 17 or 19 before that date then the player is in the older age category. Players are allowed to play up categories but not down. For example, if the season ends April 12th and the player turns 13 by that date then the player is in the U15 category. Depending on skill level, players are allowed to play up.

The season starts in October and ends in April.

Black Knight Junior T&D league events are held on Sunday afternoons. Although there are exceptions, the scheduling is based around Squash Ontario Tournaments and generally averages to about once every three weeks. Often, three teams compete each event.

The events are meant to help athlete's appreciate the competive and social side of squash. Food and drinks are served at each event and the players get to experience different clubs and meet new people.

A Squash Ontario Membership is a prerequisite to playing in the T&D League and it has its advantages including an annual subscription to Squash Life magazine, an annual member handbook, a 25% reduction on entry fee in all Provincial Championships and automatic enrollment in Squash Ontario's Sport Accident policy.

Age eligibility: Players must be the appropriate age as of end of the season cut-off date.

Format: Four players per team at least one player of each gender.

Safety: All junior players shall appropriately wear eye guards made of poly carbonate or similar materials designed for protection in sports.

Dress Code: Many clubs such as Glendon do not require white clothing; however, some Clubs do require that the players wear white clothing. Also, squash shoes do not have to be white but they must be non-marking. Please refer to the rules attached to the schedules for information and detail.
